As repeatedly promised, the Yoruba nation agitators, on Saturday, kept their promise and conspicuously showed their presence at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos State, as they appeared in cultural regalia synonymous with African traditional religion.
In spite of several warnings by security operatives and their heavy presence at the venue, the Yoruba Nation self determination agitators hold the rally for the secession of the Southwest geopolitical zone from Nigeria.
The agitators came to the venue led by traditionalists mostly women in Yoruba traditional religious attires and one man also wearing white cloth and cap which attracts the youths to come out in large number to support them.
As they were moving towards the venue of the rally, the police led by a very senior officer started shooting tear gas to disperse them.
The agitators led by Professor Banji Akintoye Ilana Oodua group had held similar rallies in other states in the South-West.
