Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has come a long way. When you are destined for a purpose, you rise magically above your peers and contemporaries.
There have been timber and calibre Nigerian writers especially in poem, novels and literature. When talking of the ‘araba’ writers among Nigerians, names like Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, John Pepper Clark, Cyprian Ekwensi, Niyi Osundare, Kole Omotosho, Gabriel Okara, Ken Saro-Wiwa, Buchi Emecheta, Okey Ndibe and so on will come into mind.
Chimamanda, beautiful and a core Igbo girl said she had been writing since when she was a very little girl. She kept it up and not long she became a star writer and became known all over the world.
She spoke with ease and eloquently about Igbo culture, language and tradition in this event.
