"He k!lled himself to avoid paying $1,900" Francis Van-Lare alleges his daughter

Francis Van-Lare, father-in-law to Dr. Ikenna Erinne, a Nigerian cardiologist based in the US, who ended his own life on January 26, 2025, has continued to defend his daughter in the turbulent marriage between her and the late doctor.

Online reports claimed that the doctor ended his life because he lost a custody case and was asked to pay child support of $15,000 per month and his license to practice as a medical doctor was revoked.

But Van-Lare has now alleged that Dr. Erinne’s license was not revoked in any state in the US.

According to him, it was just $1,900 which the late doctor paid partially sometimes.

Van-Lare also shared court details of the case between the deceased doctor and his daughter Suzette Chibuogu Van-Lare.

According to the court document Van-Lare shared, the late doctor was asked not to contact Van-Lare’s daughter, not to abuse her, and to stay away from the children and their school.

The case type was listed as “domestic violence” with temporary orders.

This comes after Van-Lare released a statement denying reports that his daughter is to blame for the death of the 36-year-old doctor.

Van-Lare alleged that the deceased held his daughter, their children, and the nanny at gunpoint for hours before shooting himself dead when police arrived.
