United States Supreme Court jurist, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away. She died on Friday from complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer, aged 87.
Ginsburg, also known as ‘Notorious RBG’ was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2009. Earlier this year, she announced a recurrence of the cancer, having discovered lesions on her liver.
For young women, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a role model who demonstrated what‘s possible for them.
On her passing, Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. wrote:
“Our nation has lost a jurist of historic stature. We at the Supreme Court have lost a cherished colleague. Today we mourn, but with confidence that future generations will remember Ruth Bader Ginsburg as we knew her — a tireless and resolute champion of justice.”
