According to reports, Ifeanyi who lives in the same house with the parents of the girl invited her into his room where he killed her and removed some of her body parts on Friday, August 18.
Her parents looked for her around but could not find any trace of her within the compound and even outside their house. Luck however ran out on the suspect when he attempted to dump the corpse of the little girl at a refuse site. Some sanitation workers who saw him inquired what he wanted to throw away.
They later discovered that it was a corpse he was about to discard. An alarm was raised and he was apprehended. But for the timely intervention of the police, he would have been lynched by the mob that had already gathered.
