UNILAG law alumni gather in US

The 1980-1983 set of graduands of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, has concluded plans to celebrate its eighth annual reunion in Maryland, the United States.

President of the Reunion, Justice Adedotun Onibokun said this year’s reunion being hosted by their members in the US would provide a unique opportunity for stakeholders to rub minds together and discuss latest legal and other social developments from around the world.

Members will also use the opportunity to network and seek ways to improve their alma mater as well as Legal Education in Nigeria.

“We have made great strides over the past eight years in that wise by contributing immensely to the development of our Law Faculty,” she added.

According to her, the programme tagged USA 2015 Reunion will be held from April 3 to 6 at Metro Points Hotel-Washington North, 8500 Annapolis Rd New Carrollton, Maryland.

It will feature a Gala Night, annual general meeting, a dinner and excursion to some landmarks and monuments.

According to a release signed by the Chairman Local Organising Committee for USA 2015 Reunion, Abiodun Oloye, and the National Publicity Secretary, Edwards Ayo Odungbesan, the event will attract their former lecturers, such as Prof. Isaac Agbede, Prof. Adedokun Adeyemi, and the current Dean, Prof. Akin Ibidapo-Obe.

Other expected dignitaries are Nigeria’s Ambassador to the US and Special Guest of Honour, Prof. Adebowale Adefuye, alongside the current President of the Alumni Society of the University of Lagos, Dr. Sunny Kuku of the EKO Hospital. (Punch).
