All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, donated N50m to compensate for the losses of the victims of Katsina Central Market fire and to rebuild the market.
The APC chieftain was in Katsina on Wednesday where he was received by the state governor, Aminu Masari. The APC stalwart was taken round the razed market by the governor. Tinubu also paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Usman.
According to Tinubu’s spokesman, Tunde Rahman, “Tinubu was in Katsina today to visit the burnt market. He was received by the governor and the governor led him to the market and pledged N50m for the rebuilding of the market. He also paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Katsina.”
Stalls and goods worth billions of naira were burnt and stolen in the looting that followed the unfortunate fire incident.
Commiserating with the people of the state and victims of the inferno on Wednesday, Tinubu encouraged the traders not to lose sight of the bigger pictures despite the tragedy.
