Thunder lightening has reportedly struck early this week in the agrarian Oro Ago community, Ifelodun local government area in Kwara state, Nigeria and killed three suspected kidnappers.

It was gathered that the incident might not be unconnected with the resolve of local vigilance team in the Igbomina axis to check security challenges in the area.

In a viral video on the incident, it was gathered that the victims of the thunder strike were suspected members of an eight-man kidnap gang, which reportedly operated in Iwo, Osun state about two weeks ago.

The one-minute-13-second video clip showed decomposing and charred bodies of three young persons, in their 20s in a bush, with flies all over the scene.

The voice in the short video clip said: “We are members of the vigilance team in Igbomina Kwara. Our efforts against those perpetrating evil and kidnapping people in our area had yielded fruits. Thunder strike struck them dead. Three of them. God will continue to make us successful against the evil doers. We shall overcome them all by the grace of God. Thank you all”.

A member of Oro-Ago Development Union (ODU), a sociocultural organization of indigenes of the area, confirmed the incident.

The source who spoke in confidence added that members of the vigilance team in the area briefed the organisation on the development.

Kwara Police commissioner, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, said that the command and its men had already commenced investigating the incident

The police boss added that veracity of the incident would be ascertained after diligent investigation.
