Late Alaafin’s son, Abdulfatai  is dead

Less than two years that Ikubabayeye, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo joined his ancestors, his son, Prince Abdulfatai Adeyemi, fondly called D-Gov, is also dead.

He died in the early hours of Friday, a day before his 47th birthday.

The late prince reportedly died of diabetes at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

The Oyo prince, who was said to have been ill for sometime, had aspired for the Oyo Federal Constituency of the House of Reps, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 but lost to his brother, Akeem Adeyemi, fondly called Skimeh, who was re-elected for the second term.

His late father, the Alaafin of Oyo, died at the age of 83 on the 22nd of April, 2022, at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital (ABUATH), Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State, after developing complications relating to prostate enlargement.
