Former Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has slammed Nigerian Senator, Bima Enagi, who is sponsoring the bill for the ban of Generators in Nigeria.
The bill passed its first reading on Wednesday March 11.
But taking to his Twitter handle to respond to the bill, Fani-Kayode wrote:
“The Senator that sponsored the Bill to ban generators in Nigeria & send those that sell or use them to jail must be insane. He ought to be tied up, placed in a straight jacket, put in a strong sack filled with weights &dropped in the deepest & darkest part of the Atlantic ocean.”

This is part of the problem in Nigeria: “There are no good people in the National Congress anymore…” The saying that evil exists because good people stand idly by and do nothing…is indeed happening in Nigeria. How can a lot of assembly men and women stand there and watch him read that bill and not stone him? And then, allow it to pass First Reading?
His nonsense bill violates a couple of tings:
To ban something, you have to give people an alternative. Where is the alternative to generated energy or generator light in Nigeria? Generator energy, no matter how pollutant – noise, air, etc., it may be, is the only steady source of energy in the country. And this feudalistic fool wants to ban it.
Secondly, where’s the idea of free market in Nigeria? Even in countries that have plenty of steady power supply, there’s still generator energy…as an alternative.
