The October 3, 2023, oral testimony of Chicago State University registrar, Caleb Westberg, showed that President Bola Tinubu violated Nigeria’s Constitution and may be in legal jeopardy of having his presidency terminated and also disqualified from future presidential elections in Nigeria.
It followed a fierce court battled by Atiku Abubakar in the United States. Section 137 (1)(j) of the Nigerian Constitution (amended in 2010) specifically stated that no one would be legitimately elected president of Nigeria if the person “has presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission.”
