That is the Honourable Justice Patricia Mahmoud for you. She is the new Acting Chief Judge of Kano State. Hon Justice Patricia Mahmoud is a Christian and from Idoma, Benue State. She has been sworn in as Kano State Acting Chief Judge.
She was appointed a Judge of the Kano State High Court in December 1991. She has served Kano State for a period of 31 years, 22 of it as a Judge.
She has been nominated at least twice for elevation to the Court of Appeal but ‘disqualified’ on the basis that she is not an indigene of Kano State and cannot therefore be considered under the state quota. Her case as a CJ becomes a big deal for two reasons in a place like Kano State but we will leave you guessing. (Africanspotlight)
