Former Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, yesterday said President Muhammadu Buhari was insensitive to the plight of ordinary Nigerian.
He said barely a year after taking over the mantle of leadership, the change mantra preached by the All Progressives Congress was not yet felt by Nigerians.
Shekarau was addressing supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at his residence in Kano after the constitution of a 44-man sub-committee.
The former governor of Kano state said the APC had failed Nigerians, as according to him, the party is not addressing the problems of Nigerians.
He said: “It is unfortunate that the APC has failed to address the abject poverty among Nigerians. Those promoting the change mantra have now ended up rewarding electorates with hunger, poverty, illiteracy and embarrassing queues at our filling stations.”
Shekarau therefore called on Nigerians to give the PDP another chance to deal with APC, a party he described as congregation of political opportunists.
“We are still waiting to see when Nigerians will start enjoying the change the APC promised. It is almost a year now after it took over power. The first quarter of the year has already passed without a working budget for our dear nation,” he said. (Daily Trust)
