Veteran Nigerian comic actor, Femi Ogunrombi aka Papa Ajasco, is dead. His death was confirmed by a theatre practitioner, Husseini Shaibu, via his Twitter handle on Sunday.
Mr. Ogunrombi, actor, singer, highlifist and trained Nurse, was for about a decade the Music Director of the National Troupe of Nigeria.
He acted the famous comic character, Papa Ajasco, on television and was the Director of Studies at the Pencil Film and Television Institute, Lagos. He has an over three-decade experience as a musicologist.
Mr. Ogunrombi took over the character, Papa Ajasco when the former character, Abiodun Ayoyinka pulled out of the show and he carried on with the role while it lasted.
He studied music and drama at the Obafemi Awolowo University.
