Police finally arrests fleeing INEC’s Adamawa REC, Hudu Yunusa-Ari

At last, the suspended and fleeing Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC’s) Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Adamawa State, Mr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari, has been arrested by the police.

The Force Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday.

INEC had called for the arrest of Hudu over the illegal declaration of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aisha Dahiru Ahmed Binani as the winner of the supplementary poll when collation was still going on in 10 local government areas in the state.

Adejobi, the police spokesperson affirmed that Hudu was arrested in Abuja on Tuesday.

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was later declared winner by INEC.
