PDP supporters, members in Kano take guber rerun case to Allah (Photos)

Few days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the Kano state governorship election inconclusive, members of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) and their supporters have gone spiritual by embarking on non-obligatory prayers and fasting to seek Allah’s intervention.

PDP members and their supporters are seeking Allah’s intervention on the coming rescheduled Kano governorship rerun election in some of the polling units, which will hold on 23rd March 2019. They are also invoking Allah’s anger on anybody who attempts to steal their mandate.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the state, Riskuwa Shehu, declared the election inconclusive for what he described as high number of cancelled votes compared to the margin between APC and PDP candidate.

He therefore ordered for a rerun in areas where elections were cancelled in different parts of the State.

PDP polled a total of 1,014,353 votes ahead of the APC which scored 987,819 votes in the governorship election of the state.

Total margin between both APC and PDP candidate was 26,655 while total votes cancelled was 141,694.

The two parties are now strategising on how to woo the electorates in the areas where the re-run will be conducted to give them their votes on the 23rd of March 2019.
