The Patriarch of Highlife Music in Africa, The last of the Originals, Highlife music maestro, Dr. Victor Abimbola Olaiya was buried today, May 7 at the Vaults & Garden Cemetery in Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria.
Recall that the music legend died at the age of 89 on February 12, 2020 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
His private burial ceremony was attended by selected family members and very few friends, and also streamed live on Facebook. Notwithstanding, it was still colorful.
The attendees were spotted wearing face masks and also observing social distancing in line with Lagos State Government rules on curbing the spread of COVID-19.
