The Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has joined his ancestors. He passed on at the age of 86.
His death was announced in a statement, signed by Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, on Thursday in Osogbo, the state capital.
Confirming the monarch’s passing, Fasuyi, in a tribute that he personally sent to the media, wrote: “An Era Comes To An Abrupt End!

After the death of Oba Peter Adeniran Olatunji Agunlejika II, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland 1912-1981, but crowned Owa on the 24th of September 1966; Oba Aromolaran ascended the throne on February 20, 1982, from the Aromolaran family, and his reign spanned 42 years.
