Image result for Orji KaluA former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to also look the way of former presidents of the country in his anti-corruption fight.
He noted that the source of wealth of these former presidents remain unknown.

Kalu, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, made the call in a statement made available to newsmen by his personal assistant, Peter Eze, yesterday.

The former governor lamented what he referred to as unwritten laws that seems to exempt former Presidents from being probed.

According to him, “It is time the president sets up board of Inquiry to probe former Presidents that have stolen from the country since 1999.

“The unwritten law that exempts former heads of states from being probed can no longer be sustainable.

“Since it has done more harm than good to the country, it should be rescinded.”

  1. “The source of wealth of these former presidents are still unknown.” Are you freaking kidding?

First, there’s only been 3 past presidents since 1999 – Obasanjo, Yaradua, and Jonathan. According to reports, Obasanjo had minimal amounts of money (20,000 Naira) when he was released from prison before becoming the president. Yaradua, according to his published assets declaration, did not have overwhelming wealth, and finally, Jonathan…well, his wealth accumulation started from Bayelsa state, as a state functionary and finally to governorship. As for his wealths during and after presidency, the “jury” is still out on that, assuming everything coming out of Dan Etete is articulated.

For this past governor to profer this suggestion is fantastic; but governor, you are forgetting another big aspect of members of corruption leaders in the country…your team – “the past governors” including but not limited to those that have become senators.

We’d feel ok if the president would go back to his “PTF” days. Then, to his friend and colleagues Babangida, Abacha, etc.

When this president was sworn in after his election, I remember that president Barack Obama gave him (his administration) a list of all “politically exposed personnel’s” from Nigeria that have over $1 million (illegally) in the US. Now this list was given to President Buhari because he vowed to “eradicate political corruption in Nigeria. Governor, your name is on this list. You may claim that you made your wealth before becoming the governor of the “worst” state in Nigeria today…ABIA; after your 8 years as the governor and with all the shenanigans you pulled, including giving your mom an office in the state house, your hand-picked successor, Theodore Orji, ran the state and left it the shape that Abia is in now, after your debacle as the governor.

With all that governor, you have the “balls” to tell this compromised president where to start…? I like it! But I wish you would go further because governor, “you have balls.”
