Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Turns Clergyman At Thanksgiving Service

The Ooni of Ife & Arole Oodua, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi(Ojaja II) on Sunday turned to a clergyman when  he craved the indulgence of the congregation to allow him mount the pulpit from where he stood and spoke to the congregation during the coronation thanksgiving service at St Paul Anglican Church, Ayegbaju, Ile-Ife to round up activities marking the official presentation of staff of office as the 51st Ooni of Ife.

He thanked God for choosing him and pray that the peace and light that he has come to fulfill in ile-Ife would spread to the State of Osun, Yoruba land, Oodua race, Nigeria and the world at large.

The revered monarch while standing up before the church asked the church to sing along with him as he led in several praise songs to God who has kept him alive, made him the king and making the the entire coronation event a huge success.

In his sermon, The Lord Bishop of Ife, Rt Reverend Oluranti Odubogun decribed Ooni as conqueror, and likened him to King Solomon in the Old Testament who had been ordained to be king from the womb of his mother. He prayed God to grant him wisdom to walk walk gregariously with God’s illumination so that he can sail through and have a successful reign.

Dignitaries at the occasion include Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, Obawara of Iwara, Oba Olayiwola Adereti, Adagba of Iyanforogi, Oba Adebolu Fatunmise, Alara of Ara-Osi, Oba Segun Layade, Basorun Adeniyi Adeoye, the ace footballer, Obafemi Martins, the Obasewa of Ife, Chief Agboola Odeyemi, the King’s father, prince Oluropo Ogunwusi, Professor Aderibigbe and a host of others.
