Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, aka Aketi, is dead.
Sources said the governor died in Lagos on Wednesday, at the age of 67.
It was gathered that Akeredolu was being managed by State House doctors up to his death as they could not fly him abroad due to his fragile condition.
A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state said arrangements were being concluded to swear in his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as full time governor.
No official statement has been issued by the state government on the matter.
Akeredolu who was said to be suffering from cancer, had been going to Germany to treat the ailment during which he handed over to Aiyedatiwa in an acting capacity.
