Agboola Ajayi, Ondo Deputy Governor Defects To PDP | Authentic News Giant

Ondo State Deputy Governor, Mr Agboola Ajayi, on Sunday resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Apoi Ward 2, Ese Odo Local Government Area of the State.

This came some hours after he was restrained from going out of the Government House in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital, by the state Police Commissioner, Bolaji Salami and his team.

Earlier reports have it that the deputy governor was on Saturday night prevented from leaving the Government House when he was stopped by the Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami, who was said to be acting on governor Akeredolu’s order.

Governor Akeredolu’s response was that the CP’s intervention which was at the instance of an almost manipulated security apparatus at the Government House was most desirable to restore law and order.

But, tendering his resignation letter at the APC secretariat in Apoi Ward 2, Ese Odo LGA, the deputy governor said everybody knew why he left the APC.

Shortly after, he went to the secretariat of the PDP in the ward where he announced his defection to the party and obtained his party card.
