On Saturday September 26, Olori Abbey, one of the wives of the 81-year-old Alaafin of Oyo, Ikubabayeye, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, turns a year older and wrote:

“I am a total product of grace. My life is an epiphany of divine intervention. Counting my blessings, and realising how much I am blessed, It gives me so much reason to be thankful.

“For the gift of life, I praise the living God. I return all adoration to the merciful Allah. I give thanks to the supreme being. The Lord of the universe, for seeing me through another chapter on the land of the living. Alhamdulillah.

“For the unique grace of abundance of wealth, happiness, joy and untold love, I want to use this medium to appreciate my husband, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo, for his unflinching support.

“Kabiesi, without your grace, your unflinching support and unrivaled love, there can be no me. Thanks so much for the continued grace of making me the woman that I am, today. My appreciation knows no bound. May you live longer on this throne…

As I mark this year’s birthday, I pray for the grace of a longer life with happiness. Happy birthday to me.”
