Chief Olusegun Obasanjo began preparations for his 78 birthday by scoring a brace in a novelty match played on Wednesday between the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) team and that of the Ogun state government.
Obasanjo captained the OOPL team while Governor Ibikunle Amosun skippered the opposing team in the encounter, which was played at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Obasanjo wasted numerous scoring opportunities but still scored the two goals that gave his side victory, as the opposing team scored a goal as well.
At the end of the five-aside match, which lasted 60 minutes, Obasanjo won the golden boot, while Amosun received the most valuable player award.
