Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku’ Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, was pictured with his four beautiful queens during the first public performance of Ugie Ododua festival which commenced on Tuesday in the Oba’s Palace in Benin city, Edo state, Nigeria.

Every step of the way, the ancient Benin Kingdom, up till the modern time, has been noted for her very rich culture. You can see the queens dressed in their regal and majesty.

Ugie Ododua which is synonymous with Ovia Deity featured ritual dance performances by seven masquerade dancers belonging to Chiefs Osa and Osuan, two high priests with spiritual songs by the Ogbelaka Royal bands.

The festival took place at the Ugha-Ehengbuda axis of the Royal Palace.
