According to Punch, the main opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party is considering the possibility of changing its name before the conduct of 2019 general elections.
Punch reports that investigations by its correspondent showed that this was one of the conditions given by those who left the party before the 2015 general elections.
It was gathered that this might be one of the issues to be discussed by the party at its hurriedly called National Executive Committee meeting, which holds in Abuja on Thursday.
PDP spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan released a statement about the meeting but did not say anything about changing name.
