APC expels Senator Abbo for anti-party activities

In a twist of event on Monday, Nigeria’s Court of Appeal, sitting in Abuja, has voided the election of the Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Elisha Ishaku Abbo.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate confirmed that the court voided his election in favour of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amos Yohanna, according to Channels Television report.

Senator Abbo had won his re-election in the February 25, 2023 National Assembly election after scoring 71,927 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Yohanna Amos, scored 61,895 votes to come second, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Court of Appeal is the final court for the determination of disputes arising from senatorial election cases or petitions.
