Nigerian Senate asks Buhari to sack Malami, Dambazau over Maina’s recall

The Senate mentioned the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami as well as the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, as being behind the development. They are consequently demanding for their immediate sack.

Members of the Red Chambers frowned at the recall of Maina, saying President Buhari’s government has been hijacked by powerful forces who do not want the All Progressives Congress, APC, led government to succeed.

  1. “Joke of the year…” I agree! But when did it become the job of Malami, Dambauzzi, et al to do such a federal appointment and by passing the president? Was not the president supposed to know these moves? Is it not their job (Malami, Dambauzzi et al) to recommend a person for a position and for the president to approve and then appoint, after a thorough vetting?

Many people claim that this president is a good man, that his administration has been hijacked. The question is: why is the president allowing all these to happen? If he is such a good man and campaigned vehemently on tackling corruption, why does he not know all these? One cannot help but believe that somehow this president has allowed his ethnic sentimentality to override his fight against corruption.

All these things are leading many to conclude 2 things: 1) maybe this president is not all what he says he’s and, 2), the president’s wife was right all along, when she said about a year ago that she is not sure if she would vote for her husband again, going by what she had seen. All these revelations are giving credence to the first lady’s assertions then.
