Falz, Vector's satiric song 'Yakubu' delights internet ...

Award-winning Nigerian rappers, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the bad guy and Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known as Vector, have expressed their views about the 2023 elections in their latest song, ‘Yakubu’, titled after the current chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

“Mr Yakubu! Ę ma ń se bi fraudster (you behave like a fraudster)/ you don’t want to prosper / Come and collect oscar/300 billion te gbà lówó ìjoba, kí le fi se ná sir (what did you do with the 300 billion received from the government),” Falz rapped in the first verse of the song.

Yabuku conducted the Nigeria presidential, gubernatorial, national assembly and state assembly elections and has been condemned by many due to some purported electoral malpractice, violence and lack of transparency.

The singers on the new song represented frustrated Nigerians and didn’t hold back on calling out INEC, its chairman and political parties allegedly involved in the electoral malpractices.

‘Yabuku‘ serves as Falz’s second official single for 2023 and is a follow up to the previously released ‘Owa‘ featuring Tekno.
