Nigerian High Court Judge dies during his church’s cross over service

Justice Aromeh Benson Akogu of the Kabba High Court in Kogi State, Nigeria, who was handling the case of attempted assassination on Senator Dino Melaye, has died.

According to reports, Justice Akogu died during his church’s cross over service in Anyigba, Kogi state at about 11.40pm on December 31st 2017. Family sources say the deceased was neither sick nor showed any symptom of illness before his sudden death.

His body has been deposited at the Grimmard Hospital Mortuary, Anyigba.

Until his death, Justice Akogu was handling the trial of the suspects arrested in connection with the April 2017 assassination attempt on Senator Dino Melaye among other cases. (LIB)
