Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria has ordered the immediate closure of tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools nationwide over the outbreak of the coronavirus in the country and as part of measures to contain the spread.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Mr Sonny Echono, confirmed this in Abuja on Thursday, according to reports.
Punch reports that when sent an inquiry through a text message to the Perm Sec, Echono simply replied, “Confirmed.”
Recall that Nigeria today also confirmed four fresh cases of COVID-19, bringing the number of people with the virus to 11.
There was also the story of a driver who tested positive to the dreaded disease in Ekiti.
