Nigerian female University student reportedly killed by Lassa fever

A 200-Level female student of the Department of Educational Management in Adekunle Ajasin University, Ayedun Temitope Patience, has reportedly died of Lassa fever infection.

Patience died on Thursday about the time another student, a male, of the same institution, Olakunle Olayinka, was murdered in cold blood by suspected cultists.

The former was said to have breathed her last at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where she was rushed to from the institution health centre.

According to a statement the school Registrar, Mr Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa released, which reads in part:

“On admission of Miss Temitope Patience Ayedun, a 200-Level of the Department of Educational Management, at the university health centre, the medical personnel tried their best to manage her until she was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo where she was intensively managed before she died on Thursday, March 5, 2020.”
