Nigerian-Ekiti girl elected Councillor in Alberta, Canada

History was made on Monday in Fort McMurray, Alberta Canada when a person of colour was elected for the very first time into the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo government.
Nigerian-Ekiti girl, Mrs Funke Banjoko (nee Ogunsuyi), a princess from Ipoti/Igogo-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, garnered the highest votes among the 6 elected in a crowd of 24 contestants in her ward.
She is the first person of colour to be elected into the second largest Municipal government in Alberta Canada.
Congratulations to Nigeria especially to the Ogunsuyi and Banjoko clans.
