From Sahara Reporters platform is the news that a Nigerian Army Brigade Commander identified as Colonel Popoola who is the acting Brigade Commander of 23rd brigade in Yola Adamawa state was shot in the shoulder on Monday November 17 during a gun battle to reclaim Hong and Gombi towns in Adamawa state from Boko Haram militants.

Nigerian-army-search-missing-school-girlsColonel Popoola had led a team of soldiers drafted from Jos in a battle to reclaim the cities when he was shot in the shoulder. An army source told Sahara Reporters that the Colonel has been transferred from the military hospital in Adamawa to the University College Hospital Ibadan for better treatment.
