Nigerian star actress, Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries for defaming him and causing him pain through false allegations made on social media.

The feud between the actress and the cleric began in 2022, following a mysterious illness that Abubakar claimed had afflicted her after an altercation with Apostle Suleman. She also accused him of breaking a promise to marry her.

After several warnings, Apostle Suleman filed a N1 billion damages lawsuit in January 2023, against the actress, for defamation. In April, a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja ordered Abubakar to pay N10 million in damages to the clergyman.

However, in a letter shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Halima offered a heartfelt apology to Apostle Suleman. She admitted to making false accusations and expressed regret for tarnishing his image.
