New IGP Mohammed Adamu decorated by president Buhari

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday decorated Mohammed Adamu as the new acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

Adamu was decorated with his new rank during a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Equally at the meeting was the outgoing IGP, Ibrahim Idris, who assisted the president in decorating the new Acting IGP with his new rank. Adamu needs to be confirmed by the Nigerian Senate before becoming a substantive IGP.

Adamu had served as Commissioner of Police in Enugu State.

He was one-time director of peacekeeping operations of the Force.

Adamu had been the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, in Benin city, Edo State.

He was also a directing staff member at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
