New Commissioner of Police assumes duty in Ekiti

New Commissioner of Police (CP) in Ekiti State, Joseph Eribo has assumed office, to take over from Adeniran Akinwale, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).

A statement released on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Ekiti State police command, Sunday Abutu, described Eribo as an accomplished officer with extensive experience in crime detection, prevention, and community policing.

Abutu said: “CP Eribo is an expert in crime detection and prevention, a veteran in operations and investigations, and an advocate of human rights.

“He is a professional in community policing and will deploy his skills and strategies to ensure effective service delivery to the people of Ekiti State.

“The Command solicits the support, cooperation, and collaboration of all stakeholders to ensure the success of the new administration,”

Eribo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Benin and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Calabar.

He attended the Nigerian Law School in Abuja, he was called to the Nigerian Bar, and later earned a Master’s degree in Law from Lagos State University.
