Iyabo Ojo turns 47 today

Nigerian star actress, Iyabo Ojo, has shared a personal story of herself, stating how she started her life with her grandmother, and how she lost her dad to alcohol and drugs when he was just 40. She also explained how she was raped on 5 different occasions.

In an interview with Biola Adebayo on Talk to B, her courageous disclosure aimed to raise awareness and condemn rape apologists, emphasizing her unwavering stance against the heinous crime.

Iyabo Ojo’s conversation also delved into her complex family history, marked by her father’s struggles with addiction, which ultimately led to his untimely death.

She spoke about growing up with her grandmother, who was of mixed Delta and Igbo heritage, and the significant delay in meeting her mother, which occurred when she was seven years old.

Iyabo said: “I was raped five times in my life. I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists. I don’t care who the person is; if that person is my son, I am going to come for him unapologetically.

“I have never met Naira Marley before my entire life. The only time I lacked was when I insisted this was the man I was going to get married to because, at that time, my dad and I disowned each other.

“My dad did everything, alcohol and drugs, so it messed him up at a young age. He died at 40.

“I grew up with my grandmother, who is half Delta and half Igbo. I think I was seven before I knew my mother”.
