New details may have emerged in connection with the rape and murder of 22-year-old Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100-level Microbiology student at the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
A popular journalist, Ayo Ademokoya was reported to have given an update on Wednesday that one of the suspects arrested in connection with the rape and murder has allegedly confessed that her RCCG Pastor allegedly paid them to have her killed because she was allegedly pregnant for him and refused to abort it.
“The pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) parish allegedly paid them 1.5 million naira to kill her.
Vera was raped and killed inside RCCG church in Benin, while she was said to be reading.
According to Chibuzo, the pastor impregnated the girl and asked her to abort the baby, but the girl refused.
He said arrangement was made for them to meet at their usual hangout spot which was the church, that was where the pastor set her up.
According to him, instead of seeing the pastor in the church, Vera met the hoodlums.
The pastor did that to cover his sins, but it has backfired.
Both the pastor and his wife are said to be on the run as it was gathered that they planed the dastardly act together.
