55-year-old man said to have been chained by his father for 30 years at Rogo LG in Kano state of Nigeria was rescued by the police and human rights organizations on Thursday, August 20.
This comes a few days after another man, Ibrahim Lawan who was also said to have been chained for 15 years by his father in his apartment in Sheka quarters within Kano metropolis, was rescued by the police.
There is no way we can scientifically verify or ascertain the 30 years claim but looking at the scene where the man was being rescued, the mat he used, the hook that was being cut and the wood his leg was hooked unto, all showed that the man appears to have been there for a long time.
