According to Nigerian Tribune, the Director of administration of Ado Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, Mr Tayo Olawuyi and three nurses, who are workers of the General Hospital, Ifaki-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State have reportedly been kidnapped by unknown men.
Sources said Mr Olawuyi was abducted last week, while the nurses were kidnapped on Friday afternoon and that he victims are yet to be found with their abductors yet to get in touch with their families.
The abduction of Olawuyi was disclosed by a staff member of the local government, who pleaded anonymity.
He said Olawuyi was accosted by the suspected kidnappers at the gate of his house, located at Odo Ado area of Ado Ekiti at gunpoint, when he was about to enter his house.
The abductors, who were said to have arrived in ash coloured Toyota Camry car, immediately, drove the victim away in the car. The five-man gang also drove Olawuyi’s official car alongside, to an unknown destination.
“Since that day, the family has been trying to call him but the cell phone was switched off. In fact there is confusion everywhere. This is the second time Olawuyi will be kidnapped in three years.”
Tribune reports that the nurses were said to be travelling to Ido-Ekiti, after close of work on the fateful day, when the abductors took them away in the private vehicle, which the victims were travelling in.
The source, who also works at the same hospital said: “The incident has thrown the hospital into confusion.”
According to Tribune, the Public Relations Officer of Ekiti police command, Mr Victor Babayemi, could not confirm the incident and said a statement would be issued in reaction to the incident.
