“Nigeria is broke. Pure and simple.” – Lai Mohammed, while begging Nigerians to understand the Government’s predicament.
Wo, Alhaji, you are the spokesman of the world’s greatest sybaritic state. Must we speak Yoruba before you understand that this is by far the most annoying rationalization of your position by you and those persuaded by your submissions?
How on earth do you come off trying to milk a parastatal under you for a N13 million jamboree to China to claim that Nigeria is broke and needs painful adjustments?
Are you prepared to match your words to action by taking the lead on the painful adjustment front? How about foregoing the N13 million for starters?
We will not stop repeating this point: a state cannot somehow find N200 billion for “constituency projects” for members of her National Assembly, find unaccountable billions for “security vote” for 36 Governors securing only their own private bank accounts, find billions annually in estacode for endless “official foreign trips” at every level and branch of governance and claim to be broke. A state cannot spend more than 50% of her cash flow on the tastes, indulgences, and hedonistic preferments of the less than 1% in government and turn around to claim that she has no money.
Alhaji, e so ara yin o. Won ni be yin lebe iranu o. All the folks cajoling and pleading and explaining and begging the people to understand why they must suffer more because you trust the President, can you please also help us beg Alhaji Lai Mohammed to save that N13 million since we are broke? Tenkiu in advance.
