Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter, has directed its members to embark on an indefinite strike action over unpaid six months salaries by the state government.

In a notice signed by the Secreratary of the judiciary staff, comrade Sule Subaru on Monday night, the union said after its emergency meetings, it has resolved to shut down the courts indefinitely with effect from Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Comrade Subaru said, this is as a result of the inability of the staff to transport themselves to their offices.

The notice reads: “The Exco commends members for their endurance and faith in the union despite untold hardship inflicted on them by the non payment of salary by the state Government.

“The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria Kogi State chapter frowns at the insensitivity of the state Government towards the Judiciary by not releasing our monthly subvention.

“This notice thereby directs all staff to sit at home as from tomorrow, the 11th day of December, 2018.

“Consequently all staff are enjoined to give maximum cooperation to this directive.”
