The Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Andrew Jonathan Nok is dead.
He reportedly died in the early hours of Tuesday.
Details of what led to his passing were unclear at the time of filing this report. Although recently, it is governor El-Rufai’s name that is being touted on the sacking of 21,000 teachers, they work under the ministry of education. This couldn’t have led to his death anyway.
Nok was a Nigerian Professor of Biochemistry and public affairs secretary of the Nigerian Academy of Science.
In 2010, he was a recipient of the Nigerian National Order of Merit Award in the Science category.
He was the 2013 winner of the Alexander Von Humboldt prize for science. May his soul rest in peace.
