About 24 hours to inauguration, the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan, has officially presented his handover notes to the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.The notes were presented inside the Council Chamber of the presidential villa today. This was done shortly after the president took Buhari round the seat of power.
Vice president Namadi Sambo, also took the vice-president-elect, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, round his wing of the villa.
Jonathan presented an executive summary of his hand over notes and a copy of the report of the National Conference to Buhari in the presence of All Progressives Congress chieftains, who accompanied him to the villa.
In his remarks, Jonathan said his administration had done its best for the country. Meanwhile, Buhari had disclosed that he would not make a bold statement until he has studied the handover notes.
The president-elect, however, commended Jonathan for conceding defeat in the March 28 presidential election. He acknowledged that the outgoing President could have made things difficult if he wanted to do so.
