Former President Goodluck Jonathan, on Wednesday evening, returned to the country from his long overseas trip aboard an Air France flight.
The former president, who landed at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State, at 6.00pm local time, was received on arrival by different groups led by the Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC).
Jonathan’s former Special Assistat on New Media, Reno Omokiri, confirmed in his twitter handle @renoomokri.
“As promised, ex-President Jonathan returned to Nigeria today after multi-city speaking tour,” he said.
A section of the media had reported a few weeks ago that Jonathan had fled the country on exile at the behest of the investigations of top Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officials by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), a claim he described as unfounded. (Nigerian Tribune)
