IGP Arase re-launched ‘Stop the bribes’ Website for Complaints against Nigerian Police Officers

Uncategorized

The Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase has re-launched a website through which members of the public can make instant complaint against observed violations by Nigerian police officers.

Such complaints on the Police misconduct can be registered via: www.stopthebribes.net

However, he appealed that such complaints Should be factual and that he would appreciate it if they can be supported with pictures or other evidence.

The website appears to have been created and in use since 2012. Some Nigerians who knew about the website have been filing their complaints on it since around December, 2012.

A check on the website shows complaints have been lodged against PHCN staff, Police officers, Traffic officers, University authorities and so on, but majority of the complaints were filed against police officers or police authorities.

Attached are photographs of the police victim who was shot on the thigh and his thigh fractured from the bullet. he was resisting arrest without a warrant of arrest. After first aid in city hospital in Auchi, he has been moved to Kano for extraction of the bullets and fixing of the broken leg.
This incident happened about a month now and the Auchi police command has not asked after the welfare of the victim.
i strongly believe that you are God sent to bring justice to this mater. I pray that you urgently come to our aid.
