Former Nigeria President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has spoken out after a closed-door meeting with the PDP National Caretaker Committee Chairman in Ogun state on Tuesday.While speaking with journalists after he met behind closed-doors, with the PDP National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Tuesday, vowed never to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to PUNCH newspaper, the meeting which lasted for one hour, was held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
The former president afterwards said, “I will never return to the PDP, just like a dog would never return to its vomit.”
“The cycle of corruption and dependency.”
These “old farts” will and are the ones bleeding Nigeria dry. They do this by cycling and recycling each other and appearing dependent on each other just to continue that circle and cycle of corruption and dependency.
Olusegun Obasanjo is in his 80’s and has governed Nigeria twice…Is he the only person with enough sense of governance and leadership in the country that these people keeps going back to him to join or rejoin their party?
Are there no other person(s) in the country, perhaps a much younger person with a set of different ideas and vision? Why is it that these political parties keeps swarming around this antiquated octogenerian as if he is the only viable Nigerian?
When this kind of stories come up, there’s usually no smoke without fire…it means that there’s usually something going on in his current place that he’s disgusted with and he wants to get away.
Remember how he ceremoniously exited PDP, with much fare and flash and disgrace to PDP. Now this same disgraced, egg-in-the face PDP wants him back? Why?
Part of the biggest problems that Nigeria has is that the so-called leaders of the country are these old farts and they are the ones stealing the country blind.
