Embattled Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has stated that he will make his next political moves known after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obaseki, who was disqualified from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state, said he would also consult his supporters to know what next to do.
The governor, who is seeking a second term in office, said on his Twitter handle on Sunday, his disqualification was unjust.
“I appreciate the sustained show of solidarity, support and goodwill from Edo people and Nigerians in the face of injustice by the @OfficialAPCNg screening committee,” he wrote.
“I will be making my next move known after I complete consultations with my supporters and meet with @MBuhari.”
Chairman of the APC screening committee, Prof Jonathan Ayuba, had informed the Governor was disqualified because of a “defective” certificate.
The APC National Working Committee (NWC) upheld the disqualification, alleging Obaseki also unduly interfered in Edo House of Assembly affairs.
