Fetus Position
This position involves lying on your side with your knees drawn toward your chest and your chin tilted down. It’s a popular sleeping position. It is also a preferred sleeping position for pregnant women and it reduces snoring. When you are sleeping in this position, you’ll need a firm pillow because it causes pain on the neck and back.
Personality: They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax.
Log Position
When sleeping in this posture, you lie on your side with both arms positioned in a straight line. This position reduces snoring, and can prevent back and neck pain.
Personality: They are easy going and social. They tend to trust strangers and they like being part of the in-crowd.
Yearner Position
People that sleep in this position sleep on their side with both arms out in front. Research shows that people who sleep in this position have a low tendency of waking up in the middle of the night. It reduces heartburn and the risk of developing disorders.
Personality: They have an open nature, they are slow to make up their minds, but once they take a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.
Soldier Position
Reduces the proper flow of blood and puts pressure on the nerves, that eventually leads to pain in the shoulders and arms.
Personality: They are reserved and quiet. They also have high standards for themselves and others.
Free fall Position
Many sleep on their stomachs because they find it comfortable. This position is known to be associated with neck and shoulder pain. Some benefits of stomach sleeping are being able to breathe better and it helps digestion. This position should only be used, however, when you’re sleeping directly on a mattress.
Personality: They are sociable and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don’t like criticism, or extreme situations.
Starfish Position
In this position, a person lies on their back with their arms up on both sides of their head. This position creates strain in the lower back and hips. It also reduces the openness of the airway, which impacts breathing quality and can lead to restless sleep.
Personality: Starfish sleepers are described as good friends and great listeners. They love to help and generally do not like attention.
